Hey everyone,
it's a bug that I find out after trying to use the map editor. It's possible to use modified map versions on public server - so that you can add a teleporter, jumppads, new paths ... all you want to do.
The server alerts "user uses modified map" but nothing happens - no disconnect - still nothing.
Here is a video of mine (without sound, where playing this game with some friends and talking over teamspeak3).
Sorry for using this bug.

Please fix this asap - or is there already a server option?

Is that not the /dev/ server where you can toggle edit mode anyways? I think it only works on this server.

Everybody plays on this server. Maybe we should just switch to another server.

Hey,
I got this bug also on my own dedicated server - not only on the /dev/ server. So I think this bug will work on all servers - or does the dedicated server have an option to enable / disable this behaviour?
And I didnt edit the Map on a dedicated-server - just in "singleplayer" mode on my own local game - without joining an multiplayer server.

There is no bug, the server sees the player playing a modified map but displaying warnings is all it does. Will forward for more consideration for now.

Okay,
then it's a "missed feature" to kick people with custom content. But there will be much people who will use it - and nobody can't play well.

I think that I finally found a way to kick this people if they try to connect... you could see it in action on the "kandru.eu Official #1" server.

There's a new variable added to Tesseract and Sauerbraten SVN: /modifiedmapspectator (1 to enable)

But wont the SVN version sometimes have updated maps that count as modified?

When that's the case the version is usually bumped to prevent players with legit but updated maps from playing with release-version players.
