I made a second map. It is a medium sized ffa map.
I used some of my textures again so you have to download them.
download map (waypoints included)
unnamed texture set (~30MB)

Blame the heightmap tool.
Aside that, looks very impressive.

Re: Entropy

You should always heightmap in moderation, and be prepared to manually adjust if necessary.

Re: Entropy

If using heightmap, use a grid power between 2 to 5 (depending on the size of the area to cover) and be sure to use the Smooth brush after elevating or digging terrain! The Square brushes are a good way to perform the initial landscaping.

To eihrul: it'd be cool if we had a 25 × 25 Smooth brush, that's easy to make. ;)

I just tap H again a few times, it seems to level things out a bit.

Re: Entropy

Maybe add some thing in the middle of the lava, its a bit un interesting seeing the texture tile so much, same with the hills, other than that, great map!

Re: Entropy

I was a bit lazy at the terrain, but it is only visible through the windows.
It is more detailed now and the map has much more verts this way. I also used blendpaint for the terrain texture and it is darker.

Re: Entropy

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but half the textures from the texture pack come up as "Texture Error". I unpacked the .rar into the "texture" folder of tesseract, so the directory is Tesseract/media/texture/unnamed

Please let me know if this is a real bug or im doing it wrong.

Re: Entropy

There is a texture folder allready in the .zip file. You have to unpack it to the Tesseract/media/ directory.

Re: Entropy

You guys should look at cliffs in the real world once in a while. Nature doesn't smooth things off either, ya know. Rocky terrain with harsh edges is actually more natural, imho.
