This is strange, usually there are at least these three:

Try adding them in "servers.cfg", which is located in the "config" folder.

addserver 92.222.95.149 42000
addserver 154.49.213.137 42000
addserver 79.213.248.244 42000

If you refer to the almost complete absence of players, instead, this game's online activity has never been very much alive, except at the beginning, as it's mostly an experimental side-project of Sauerbraten (which is a shame, if you ask me, but developers have the rights of their own actions). As for the reasons of this situation, I suggest you reading this interview (pretty old but still valid, I guess).
