I was going for a sort of classical look with this one. Still a work in progress; you can clearly see that the models are not imported yet.

It's hard to tell from the screenshots, but i don't think those are real trees???
Seriously though, looking good! One thing i would question is the large, arched doorways. They do seem a bit low from what i can see, which might make them difficult to move through. This is something that I would need to actually play the map to be certain of though, as screenshots aren't very good for judging this sort of thing.

this will be a good map for tdm

The trees are just drawn, the models are not imported yet.

Great start.
Some hedges might fit in well:

That's an obscene amount of tris for some bushes...

That's a pretty darn quality bush though.

Wow, not even Battlfield has such high poly bushes/hedges. Those are looking good indeed, but don't seem to fit real time rendering purposes.

eh, it really isn't that bad (looks more than it is really). Obviously you can't go over board with it, but I am pretty sure games like Battlefield have props with equal or more polies.

Updated version out for testing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yuw3jul3slzhr … ardZip.zip
Consider all the models to be placeholders at this point. The urn is one I found online and textured, and the trees are from Red Eclipse. The ivy is from Nobiax at OGA.
The urn is a little glowy at the moment, lol

Why is that a bad thing? We just need to put attribution somewhere in a README file.

Arguably the entire map needs to be CC-by-SA then and I am not sure what the inclusion criteria for Tesseract are (in the past Sauerbraten was pretty anti-copyleft). Personally I like copyleft, but I understand if people disagree.

The Blender Foundation tree certainly looks much nicer in game, but a problem (which you can see below) is that the transparency textures fade out at distance, such that the faraway tree looks like it has no leaves.

Try this setting in the mdl.cfg.
mdlalphatest 0.5

Thanks, that did the trick.

This model should be added to the default installation (and default map models), so that we finally have a tree model.
A grass hedge model would also be appreciated.

much nicer, and the statue really adds to the map :)

Hmm, if you're allowed to modify the texture i suggest you play around a little and make it darker. The trunk and leaves are too bright.
